A Scripture For Everything. Part [14] 05/21/2022 (Morning thought)

John 2:3 And when they wanted wine, the mother of Jesus saith unto him, they have no wine. 6 And there were set there six water pots of stone, after the manner of the purifying of the Jews, containing two or three firkins apiece. 7 Jesus saith unto them, Fill the water pots with water. And they filled them up to the brim. 8 And he saith unto them, Draw out now, and bear unto the governor of the feast. And they bore it.

Again, what we have just read about Jesus turning water into wine, is not all the Bible has to say about the issue for as we have stated before the scripture can be used in many circumstances to justify a right or a wrong course of action. We were just wondering again, why Isaiah says in our first passage, that some will fall backward after reading the scriptures, just wondering!

It all depends on the readers in question whether or not they are genuinely in search of God’s ideal will, or whether they are looking for scriptures to justify a course of action that is antithetical to the truth in the matter.

[The Desire of Ages. pp 143] The wine which Christ provided for the feast, and that which He gave to the disciples as a symbol of His own blood, was the pure juice of the grape. To this the prophet Isaiah refers when he speaks of the new wine “in the cluster,” and says, “Destroy it not; for a blessing is in it.” Isaiah 65:8.

Proverbs 23: 29 Who hath woe? who hath sorrow? who hath contentions? who hath babbling? who hath wounds without cause? who hath redness of eyes? 30 They that tarry long at the wine; they that go to seek mixed wine. 31 Look not thou upon the wine when it is red, when it giveth his color in the cup, when it moves itself aright. 32 At the last it bites like a serpent, and stings like an adder.

May The Lord add His blessing to the study of His word. God bless!
