Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
With the free Gift and the promise God is offering to us all, everything that has to do with the ultimate fulfillment will have to be wrapped in the package of belief. If we do not believe that God can enable us to live victoriously, we would bring to the table a spirt of defeat, and this will severely weaken and compromise the ability to conquer.
Some persons struggle on the issues of diets and foods, and candies, chocolates and twinkies beckon persons in the shopping aisles at the local Publix, where shopping is a pleasure. In order to vanquish those temptations on diets and foods, we will first have to believe that God will grant us success.
Others struggle with evil thoughts and desires that at times seem to strive for the mastery. Believing is the very first step in overcoming. In fact, everything that pertains to righteousness by faith, begins, and continues with belief, and that’s why our first verses stated that God counted it to him as righteousness, as Abraham believed.
Hebrews 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
