Jonah 1:1 Now the word of the Lord came unto Jonah the son of Amittai, saying, 2 Arise, go to Nineveh, that great city, and cry against it; for their wickedness is come up before me. 3 But Jonah rose up to flee unto Tarshish from the presence of the Lord, and went down to Joppa; and he found a ship going to Tarshish" ...... 4 But the Lord sent out a great wind into the sea, and there was a mighty tempest in the sea, so that the ship was like to be broken.
This passage of scripture gives us unmistakeable evidence that sin affects the weather in adverse ways, and in the case of Jonah, it resulted in a violent storm that almost took the lives of everyone on board the ship that was headed to Tarshish. What is worthy of note is that Jonah's disobedience actually jeopardized the lives of those who had nothing to do with his sin, and it was only after much deliberation and much hesitation, that they reluctantly threw Jonah overboard, in obedience to the solution that he himself had suggested. What happened next is a most precious lesson for all of earth's inhabitants, for it has to do with the deadly hurricanes, earthquakes, and tornadoes that will be overspreading the earth in short order, or otherwise the lengthening of our tranquility if we repent and forsake our national and personal transgressions. Let's read:
Jonah 1:11 Then said they unto him, What shall we do unto thee, that the sea may be calm unto us? for the sea wrought, and was tempestuous. 12 And he said unto them, Take me up, and cast me forth into the sea; so shall the sea be calm unto you: for I know that for my sake this great tempest is upon you. 13 Nevertheless the men rowed hard to bring it to the land; but they could not: for the sea wrought, and was tempestuous against them. 14 Wherefore they cried unto the Lord, and said, We beseech thee, O Lord, we beseech thee, let us not perish for this man's life, and lay not upon us innocent blood: for thou, O Lord, hast done as it pleased thee. 15 So they took up Jonah, and cast him forth into the sea: and the sea ceased from her raging.
Most of the current problems we are witnessing in the natural world with the violent upheavals of nature in storms, hurricanes, tornadoes, and wintry blizzards, is not the result of global warming, but rather the consequences of global sinning. Contrary to what modern science would have us believe, there are other forces at work behind the scenes that can adversely affect our weather, and this is in direct response to the problem of global sinning. In the case of Jonah it was The Lord who sent out the violent storm, but more often than not, it is satan who is permitted to bring about deadly tornadoes, snow storms, and violent hurricanes, which take a heavy toll upon both man and beast. This sacred and scientific truth is distinctly stated in the word of God. Let's read:
Ephesians 2:1 And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins; 2 Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience.
Job 1:9 Then Satan answered the Lord, and said, Doth Job fear God for nought? 10 Hast not thou made an hedge about him, and about his house, and about all that he hath on every side? thou hast blessed the work of his hands, and his substance is increased in the land. 11 But put forth thine hand now, and touch all that he hath, and he will curse thee to thy face. 12 And the Lord said unto Satan, Behold, all that he hath is in thy power; only upon himself put not forth thine hand. So Satan went forth from the presence of the Lord. 14 And there came a messenger unto Job" .... 18 "And said, Thy sons and thy daughters were eating and drinking wine in their eldest brother's house: 19 And, behold, there came a great wind from the wilderness, and smote the four corners of the house, and it fell upon the young men, and they are dead; and I only am escaped alone to tell thee.
It matters not whether the adverse results of iniquity, in the violent upheavals in nature, come from God or from satan, the fact is that these are the stated results of continued, high-handed sinning against God and man, and they are scheduled to increase exponentially as we go deeper and deeper into sin, which as the Bible correctly states, pays wages in much death and destruction. And just as it was in the days of Jonah's experience, so it is today, for adverse weather conditions an account of sin can and will affect millions who had nothing to do with the support or the legislation of iniquity. When the much more potent spiritual law of God is violated deliberately and continually, it affects the operation of natural law, which is subject to and manipulated by the vastly superior spiritual law, and when sin is confirmed and indulged across the planet, then the potent spiritual law throws natural law out of balance, resulting in deadly and costly natural disasters.
And for those scientists and philosophers who dare to query the word of God pertaining to these matters, the Bible gives the unknown science behind what is taking place across the globe, and thus it behooves all of us to not only take note, but also to bring about the desperately needed changes and reforms, so that there may be a reversal of our current misfortunes. The following passages are taken directly from the word of God, and are given with the understanding that God's word has the final say in all matters pertaining to the human experience. Let's read:
Leviticus 18:22 Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination. 23 Neither shalt thou lie with any beast to defile thyself therewith: neither shall any woman stand before a beast to lie down thereto: it is confusion. 24 Defile not ye yourselves in any of these things: for in all these the nations are defiled which I cast out before you: 25 And the land is defiled: therefore I do visit the iniquity thereof upon it, and the land itself vomiteth out her inhabitants.
Isaiah 24:3 The land shall be utterly emptied, and utterly spoiled: for the Lord hath spoken this word. 4 The earth mourneth and fadeth away, the world languisheth and fadeth away, the haughty people of the earth do languish. 5 The earth also is defiled under the inhabitants thereof; because they have transgressed the laws, changed the ordinance, broken the everlasting covenant. 6 Therefore hath the curse devoured the earth, and they that dwell therein are desolate: therefore the inhabitants of the earth are burned, and few men left.
Numbers 35:33 So ye shall not pollute the land wherein ye are: for blood it defileth the land: and the land cannot be cleansed of the blood that is shed therein, but by the blood of him that shed it.
The current transgressions being committed across the land will prove to be extremely costly in terms of human life and monetary value, because the abnormal amounts of continual snow are certain to affect the germination of seed and the consequent production of fruit and grain. And if as expected, the highest courts in the land end up overturning the sacred marriage institution in June of this year, let's remember that the decision will be made just prior to the hurricane season, and let's also remember that God's word has never failed, both in prediction and in outcome. We therefore end with a passage of scripture which cautions us not to push the envelope of God's grace and mercy, because one day soon, the same merciful Savior who has borne us on wings of love, will be our judge, to give to every man according to his works. Let's read:
Job 38:1 Then the Lord answered Job out of the whirlwind, and said, 2 Who is this that darkeneth counsel by words without knowledge? 3 Gird up now thy loins like a man; for I will demand of thee, and answer thou me. 22 Hast thou entered into the treasures of the snow? or hast thou seen the treasures of the hail, 23 Which I have reserved against the time of trouble, against the day of battle and war? 24 By what way is the light parted, which scattereth the east wind upon the earth? 25 Who hath divided a watercourse for the overflowing of waters, or a way for the lightning of thunder?
It is the will of God that we all reason soberly from cause to effect, and thus make straight paths for our feet, so that the tribulations that are coming upon the world may be stayed. God bless!
