Isaiah 8:20: 19 And when they shall say unto you, Seek unto them that have familiar spirits, and unto wizards that peep, and that mutter: should not a people seek unto their God? for the living to the dead?
[3] The dead do not know anything, they have no knowledge of future events, they have no feelings, they cannot speak, and if any duppy were to give advice, it would be bad advice. No need to walk backwards into your house after some relative has died, no need to place shoes in a certain position after the passing of a loved one, no need to rearrange your furniture, or turn over any mattresses.
There is also no need to wear your clothes back to front, no need to pour white rum on the grave site, no need to cover any mirrors in your room, and no, duppies don’t walk in a straight line. We therefore end with a passage of Scripture which will help us to fend off any such intrusions, and it is the will of God that His remnant people stay as far as possible from any semblance of communication with the dead.
