A Scripture For Everything. Part [8] 05/18/2022 (Morning thought)

Matthew 4:5 Then the devil taketh him up into the holy city, and sets him on a pinnacle of the temple, 6 And saith unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee: and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone.

The very next temptation included scripture that has been strategically doctored, and his spin on it would be made to mean what God strictly forbids anyone to do, because no one is advised to jump off of a skyscraper, and reasonably expect God to deliver or save in such a situation. Yet, the words he uses have been lifted from the scriptures.

Persons are never to put themselves, unbidden by God, in harm’s way and then expect God to work a miracle to save, for it generally does not work that way. Even though God is merciful, His mercies are never to be abused by the human agent, for as was stated before, He often let’s the laws of sowing and reaping run their natural course.

The thief, who accepted Christ on the cross, at the very last moment, had spent his entire life stealing things from many persons, and as he saw eternity looming before him, he had a change of heart. But the results of his actions were not removed, and he died the first death like any other bandit.

Luke 23:40 But the other answering rebuked him, saying, Dost not thou fear God, seeing thou art in the same condemnation? 41 And we indeed justly; for we receive the due reward of our deeds: but this man hath done nothing amiss.

May The Lord add His blessing to the study of His word. God bless!
