Salvation To The Gutter-most. Part [5] 03/08/2022 (Evening thought)

Acts 18: 5 And when Silas and Timotheus were come from Macedonia, Paul was pressed in the spirit, and testified to the Jews that Jesus was Christ. 6 And when they opposed themselves, and blasphemed, he shook his raiment, and said unto them, Your blood be upon your own heads; I am clean; from henceforth I will go unto the Gentiles.

Often, when The Spirit of God is about to convict a person of the truth, the individual may put up some forms of resistance to their awakened conscience, and this initial resistance could be misconstrued by those giving the message, as infertile ground to sow upon. In fact, some resistance is often evidence that God is working behind the scenes, and as such, we are to be encouraged in our efforts when resistance arises.

The natural response of the human heart, when the truth is presented, is to resist it, and because of this resistance is to be expected, as something normal. The same will be true at the time of the latter rain, for we are not to expect smooth sailing as it would pertain to eleventh hour conversions.

Like as it was with Paul, we would run into stiff opposition from some persons, before they surrender to Christ, and therefore, stubborn resistance from some may not necessarily mean that God has counted them out, neither should we.

Acts 18:9 Then spoke the Lord to Paul in the night by a vision, Be not afraid, but speak, and hold not thy peace. 10 For I am with thee, and no man shall set on thee to hurt thee: for I have much people in this city. 11 And he continued there a year and six months, teaching the word of God among them.

May God add His blessing to the study of His word. “Good night” and God bless!
