Isaiah 53: 5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.
God sent Jesus Christ to save as many as are willing and He gives us both the presence and power of His Holy Spirit to enable us to do right, as The Spirit of God takes up residence in the new person. Again, it is God alone who carefully monitors the strength of those temptations that are permitted to come our way, for were it not for this work not a single one of us would be left standing.
Thus, we must reiterate our first prominent feature of the communication between God and Abraham as it pertains to righteousness by faith: God is The Only One Who can initiate both the conversation and the promise. This leads us to the second prominent feature of the communication from God to Abraham, as it pertains to righteousness by faith: [2] The promise contains a virtual impossibility, as far as man’s ability goes.
The promise, as was stated in our second prominent feature of the conversation between Abraham and God, is a virtual impossibility, as far as the human agent’s ability goes. It was a gift, and it would have to be received as a gift, because there was no effort on the part of Abraham, or Sarah that would have facilitated the materialization of the promise.
Genesis 15: 5 And he brought him forth abroad, and said, Look now toward heaven, and tell the stars, if thou be able to number them: and he said unto him, So shall thy seed be. 6 And he believed in the Lord; and he counted it to him for righteousness.
May God add His blessing to the study of His word. “Good night” and God bless!
