Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. 2 For by it the elders obtained a good report. 6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
When Job was sick, his friends brought narrow views of faith to the table, and instead of helping him to exercise faith, the tenor of their speech then savored of limitations, prompting Job to issue this following statement: Job 16:2 Miserable comforters are ye all.
But when God came on the scene, He immediately pointed Job to the starry heavens, and to the limitless possibilities which exist in creative power, and thus, Job’s mind was given a broader view of things which had seemed perplexing, and the rest is history, for Job confessed that he had spoken things without knowledge or understanding.
However, under closer investigation we’ll discover that the problem in this instance with the disciples was not only one of faith, for even if they believed, they would still meet with signal failure. What they needed, in addition to believing was a different approach, one that must be tailormade to deal with the specific problem at hand.
Matthew 17:20 And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief; 21 Howbeit this kind goes not out but by prayer and fasting.
May The Lord add His blessing to the study of His word. God bless!
