Matthew 26:41 Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.
There’s something called unnecessary temptation, meaning that we may have left something on the table that might have invoked temptation. [The Desire of Ages pp 324] When the soul surrenders itself to Christ, a new power takes possession of the new heart. A change is wrought which man can never accomplish for himself. It is a supernatural work, bringing a supernatural element into human nature.
The soul that is yielded to Christ becomes His own fortress, which He holds in a revolted world, and He intends that no authority shall be known in it but His own. A soul thus kept in possession by the heavenly agencies is impregnable to the assaults of Satan.
Impregnable meaning: a fortified position, unable to be captured or broken into. Unable to be defeated or destroyed; unassailable. Synonyms include: Bulletproof, indomitable, insurmountable, invincible, invulnerable, unbeatable, unconquerable, unstoppable. But unless we do yield ourselves to the control of Christ, we shall be dominated by the wicked one.
Luke 22:31 And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat: 32 But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren.
May God add His blessing to the study of His word. “Good night” and God bless!
