The Spirit Of Discernment. Part [6] 08/06/2021 (Evening thought)

JOHN 14:13 And whatsoever ye shall ask “in my name”, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. 14:14 If ye shall ask any thing “in my name”, I will do it.

NOW BRETHREN, THIS IS VERY SERIOUS BUSINESS! THESE TEXTS SAY EXPLICITLY “WATSOEVER”AND “ANYTHING”. IT MEANS LITERALLY, THAT IF WE ASKED OR REQUESTED SOMETHING OF GOD, AND IT WAS NOT GRANTED OR DONE UNTO US, THEN IT MEANS THAT THE REQUEST WAS NOT MADE “IN JESUS NAME” EVEN THOUGH, AT THE END OF OUR PRAYER WE ADDED THOSE FAMOUS WORDS “IN JESUS NAME AMEN”.

NOW IT DOES NOT MEAN WE ARE NOT CHRISTIANS, OR THAT GOD DID NOT HEAR OUR PRAYERS; IT JUST MEANS THAT THE REQUEST WAS NOT GRANTED BECAUSE IT WASN’T MADE “IN JESUS NAME”, ACCORDING TO THE SCRIPTURE WE JUST REFERRENCED. LET’S READ AGAIN: JOHN 16:23 Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you. JOHN 15:7 If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.

THESE PASSAGES WOULD OBVIOUSLY NEED CLARIFICATION, FOR SOME PERSONS MAY BE LED TO BELIEVE THAT GOD IS DUTY BOUND TO ANSWER PRAYERS THAT HAVE THE WORDS “IN JESUS’ NAME” AT THE END. THIS IS NOT NECESSARILY THE CASE, FOR TO PRAY IN HIS NAME MEANS MORE THAN JUST INCLUDING JESUS’ NAME IN OUR PRAYER.

JAMES 4:3 Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts.

May God add His blessing to the study of His word. “Good night” and God bless!
