Dear Doctor Fauci! Part [4] 08/11/2021 (Morning thought)

Daniel 1:10 And the prince of the eunuchs said unto Daniel, I fear my lord the king, who hath appointed your meat and your drink: for why should he see your faces worse liking than the children which are of your sort? then shall ye make me endanger my head to the king.

So, what does one do when there may be different opinions on such an important matter, where both parties adamantly believe they are right? To solve this conundrum the three Hebrews made the most reasonable offer that would appeal to everyone’s better judgment.

They would put the matter to the test in real time, and thus let the chips fall where they may. If it was proven that the Chef was right, then they would be happy to acquiesce, but if not, then the resulting data would be able to guide Melzar, the Chef in his culinary decisions moving forward.

There was no need for them to enter into heated arguments, nor was it necessary for one to defame the other, as is currently too often the case. It was such a reasonable proposal, to which both parties could comfortably agree that they decided to put the matter to the test, and the rest is history.

Daniel 1:11 Then said Daniel to Melzar, whom the prince of the eunuchs had set over Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah, 12 Prove thy servants, I beseech thee, ten days; and let them give us pulse to eat, and water to drink. 13 Then let our countenances be looked upon before thee, and the countenance of the children that eat of the portion of the king's food: and as thou seest, deal with thy servants.

May The Lord add His blessing to the study of His word. God bless!
