Genesis 6:5 And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. 6 And it repented the Lord that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart.
[5] At least 150 people fatally shot in more than 400 shootings over the Fourth of July weekend. By Emma Tucker, Omar Jimenez and Kristina Sgueglia, CNN. At least 150 people were killed by gun violence in more than 400 shootings across the country during the 4th of July weekend as major cities nationwide confront a surge in violent crime, according to data compiled by the Gun Violence Archive.
The data, which includes the number of shooting incidents and gun violence victims nationally over a 72-hour period from Friday through Sunday, is still evolving and will be updated. And since the publication of this data, the numbers have actually increased. Thus, just as it was in the days of Noah, so is it now taking place across the land. Unwarranted violence against persons has become the order of the day.
And we must never forget that this was one of the reasons why God saw fit to bring a flood of waters to destroy the earth. Whenever there is a lack of respect for human life, and wherever persons and societies see fit to take matters into their own hands, as it pertains to retaliation, revenge and road rage, there we will see an unprecedented uptick in senseless, violent crimes, a sure sign of the rapid deterioration of society.
Genesis 6:12 And God looked upon the earth, and, behold, it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted his way upon the earth. 13 And God said unto Noah, The end of all flesh is come before me; for the earth is filled with violence through them; and, behold, I will destroy them with the earth.
May The Lord add His blessing to the study of His word. God bless!
