Christ Our Greatest Treasure. Part [8] 05/05/2021 (Morning thought)

In Christ, we have the seeds of immortality already sown in our mortal bodies, which will spring up into everlasting life if we stay the course with Him. When we become united to Christ on the brethren level, we become partakers of the immortality that is His, and this fact renders us impregnable to such dissolution that’s permanent in nature.

The physical body may be laid in the dust, but then the brethren factor comes into play, for just as the grave couldn’t prevent Jesus, the grave cannot prevent “brethren”. In an age of Covid where so many have died and are still dying, the “brethren” factor would make all the difference and hence the reason why the urgency of the moment, for persons who have already become brethren to seek to make more brethren.

The terrible scenes of death and decay now being witnessed across India, in Brazil, and here across the continental United States remind us of the frailty of our human nature, and these manifestations serve as a grim reminder that, unless Jesus comes soon, all of us would bite the dust, some sooner, and some later. Thus, the following passages must be read and understood from the perspective of us being “Brethren” with Christ.

1st Corinthians 15:20 But now is Christ risen from the dead and become the first-fruits of them that slept. 21 For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead. 22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.

May The Lord add His blessing to the study of His word. God bless!
