The Resurrection. Part [6] 03/20/2021 (Morning thought)

2nd Peter 1:4 Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

Pointer # [5] Even though the Divine and human are blended in the person of Christ, yet the two natures remain distinct.

This is one of the most important points to grasp in the study of the resurrection. How the two natures could be blended in the Person of Christ, and yet remain distinct, baffles science, angels, and devils. In fact, when satan began his temptations of Christ by saying “If thou be the Son of God” it was not only to insinuate doubt; he also had some valid concerns as to the science behind the incarnation.

Again, the angel who announced the birth of Christ seemed to be lost for words, for, after telling Mary of what The Holy Ghost was about to do through the incarnation, he concludes by declaring “That Holy Thing” will be called the Son of God, obviously not knowing how else to describe the unique blend and the distinctiveness that would occur at the same time in Christ.

When through faith, obedience, and baptism we are united to Christ, we become partakers of His Divine nature, and it’s because of this union that we are enabled to live free from the shackles which once bound us. Stubborn habits and vices which we formerly struggled with for many years are left in the dust, and by faith in the power of God’s presence in us, we are enabled to hold the lower passions at bay, and fend off multiple, sustained attacks from the enemy of souls, coming in from different directions.

John 1:12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name. 13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

May The Lord add His blessing to the study of His word. God bless!
