2nd Samuel 6:7 And the anger of the Lord was kindled against Uzzah; and God smote him there for his error; and there he died by the ark of God.
[Patriarchs & Prophets pp 706] Transgression of God's law had lessened his sense of its sacredness, and with unconfessed sins upon him he had, in face of the divine prohibition presumed to touch the symbol of God's presence. God can accept no partial obedience, no lax way of treating His commandments. Most Christians and believers living today have not a clue as to what God would do when probation is over, and many will be at a loss for words to explain His actions.
That is why, in describing God’s work in the closing scenes of earth’s history Isaiah call it His strange act. Some individuals may be on the verge of hating God for things they do not understand. Persons question His goodness, since He has all the power to restrain Covid and his brethren, but yet it seems to many, as if God is missing in action, and like David, many are “Displeased”.
The fact is that God has long been trying to get our attention, but we seem not to get the message. He is permitting adverse things to transpire across the earth so that its inhabitants would be awakened as it were, out of slumber, because the great day of final accounts is just over the horizon.
Isaiah 28:21 For the Lord shall rise up as in mount Perazim, he shall be wroth as in the valley of Gibeon that he may do his work, his strange work; and bring to pass his act, his strange act. 22 Now therefore be ye not mockers, for I have heard from the Lord God of hosts a consumption, even determined upon the whole earth.
May The Lord add His blessing to the study of His word. God bless!
