The Importance Of Accepting Christ. 09/22/2015 (Evening thought)

Romans 8:1 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. 9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.

This passage of scripture teaches us that in order for us to be delivered from condemnation of the law, we must be found in Christ Jesus, and the second verse goes on to bring an important truth to light, that whatever a person's profession might be, if The Holy Spirit is not present in the heart, he or she does not belong to Christ. Thus, accepting Christ must involve much more than a mere intellectual assent to some fundamental truths of the Bible, for Christ is a Person, and as such, our relationship with Him through the indwelling of the Holy Spirit is what matters the most.

Furthermore, Christ stated that those who accept Him as Lord and Savior, have their names written in the Lamb's book of life, and therefore, if a person is not found in Him, they do not even stand a chance during the current investigative judgment, for their names won't even be mentioned. This sobering truth should cause all individuals who may be trifling with God's grace to reconsider what is being said, for if our names are not called in the first judgment, then it automatically means that we are lost forever.

This sacred truth is of particular importance for the times in which we now live, for there are millions of sincere Catholics and Anglicans who have had their hopes centered in the Eucharist and the confessional, which are administered through the ministry of priests and bishops, and who by default, place their faith in a system of religious rites and ceremonies which cannot absolve the sinner by any means. Let's read:

Hebrews 4:14 Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession. 15 For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. 16 Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

The call to come out of Babylon, as made by the angel of Revelation 18, is therefore an urgent appeal for all honest-hearted Christians to relinquish such a religious system, for the sins that are thus confessed and supposedly pardoned by earthly priests, remain in the books of heaven un-forgiven, which will then cause those who continue to put their trust in such a system, to be placed under the tribunal of the executive judgment, from which there will be no escape or pardon. Let's read:

Revelation 20:12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. 15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

Christ has set before us an open door, by which every member of the human family may now go directly to the throne of grace to find pardon and peace, and therefore, if any person goes through any other door, they will be signally disappointed in the results of such a course of action, because forgiveness can be found only in, and through Christ. This is one of the most pertinent truths which needs to be urgently carried to a dying world, and thus it is incumbent upon the remnant people of God to understand the nature of the three angel's messages, so that the everlasting gospel given therein, may be disseminated to those who need it most.

We therefore end with a passage of scripture which focuses our attention on the work of Jesus Christ as our High Priest in the heavenly courts, and it is the will of God, that all who desire to be saved in His kingdom, now place their faith and confidence in The Lamb of God, who alone can take away the sins of the world. Let's read:

1st Timothy 2:5 For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus. 6 Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.

May God add His blessing to the study and practice of His word. "Good night" and God bless!
