Malachi 2:7 For the priest's lips should keep knowledge, and they should seek the law at his mouth"... 8 But ye are departed out of the way; ye have caused many to stumble at the law"... 9 Therefore have I also made you contemptible and base before all the people, according as ye have not kept my ways, but have been partial in the law.
This passage of scripture sums up the dire results of removing God's law from our consciences, for whenever this is done, we are left without a moral compass, to guide our benighted souls in the ways of truth and duty. The false doctrine which teaches its adherents that the law of God was nailed to the cross on Calvary, has been productive of the greatest evils, for it essentially opens the floodgates of iniquity and sinful indulgences to an unprecedented level, by causing us to become a law unto ourselves. And wherever this occurs, there is seen the very worst kinds of practices, even in those who are supposed to be the spiritual guardians of the people.
In recent years there has been a disturbing uptick in the number of sexual perversions and violations taking place between priests and their parishioners, some of which include minors of the same sex. And the cancer has also metastasized to the protestant and evangelical world, in which prominent pastors, televangelists and bishops have betrayed sacred trusts, by having extramarital affairs, and that with multiple partners of the same or opposite sex. The latest casualty was a well respected theologian and family man, married with children, and looked up to by those under his care, but who recently committed suicide, after learning that his name was exposed on the Ashley Madison list, that was made public by hackers.
This just goes to show that the process of true conversion was not taking place in the lives of those who claimed to be under-shepherds, because real change in the Christian's life cannot take place without the law of God, since it is a vital and integral part of the entire process. As a matter of fact, all those who deliberately cling to the false doctrine that the law of God was nailed to the cross, will experience a series of moral falls, and will be overcome by the evil one sooner or later, because the prevented God's law from being written in their hearts and minds, to keep them from evils without and within. Let's read:
Psalms19:7 The law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple. 8 The statutes of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes. 9 The fear of the Lord is clean, enduring for ever: the judgments of the Lord are true and righteous altogether. 10 More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb. 11 Moreover by them is thy servant warned: and in keeping of them there is great reward.
Thus it is, that if we intend to keep ourselves from the evils of these last days, we will need to acknowledge the fact that God's law is still in existence, and is the rule and guide of life, given for the best good of earth's inhabitants. And if we begin by acknowledging this fundamental and sacred truth, God will continue by writing His law and its principles into our hearts and minds, so that we can be His people, and He be our God. We therefore end with a passage of scripture which confirms to us the sacred truth, that God's law is written in the minds of those who surrender to Christ, and if we desire His image to be fully restored in us, we too will need to submit to the essential process, through the enabling power of The Holy Ghost. Let's read:
Hebrews 8:10 For this is the covenant that I will make".... "saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people: 11 And they shall not teach every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for all shall know me, from the least to the greatest. 12 For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.
May The Lord add His blessing to the study and practice of His every word. God bless!
