Revelation 14:6 And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people, 7 Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come".... 8 And there followed another angel, saying, Babylon is fallen, is fallen".... 9 And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand, 10 The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation"....
This verses of scripture describe very graphically for us, the three angels' messages that are to be given to the entire world before earth's probation is closed, and Christ's eternal kingdom of righteousness is be ushered in. Beginning with the the warning to fear God, and worship Him alone, they continue with the announcement of the dual fall of Babylon, and then they end with a very stern warning against accepting the mark of the beast in our foreheads or in our hands, for as stated, anyone who does this for any reason, will be permanently excluded from the kingdom of God, and their decisions can never, ever be reversed. In other words, by taking the mark of the beast, a person will by that act seal their fate forever, and can look forward to nothing but the fires of the last day.
These critically important messages are represented as being trumpeted by holy angels flying in the midst of heaven, and encircling the entire globe, but no literal angels will ever be seen doing this work, for it is commissioned to human beings who have consecrated their all to the service of The Living God, and therefore the mention of angels as messengers in this context, cannot be interpreted in the literal sense of the word.
When Christ was just about to leave this earth, to take up His role as our Great High Priest in the heavens, He gave to His disciples and also to us, the gospel commission, to go teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost, and then in another scripture He reiterated what was then spoken, by declaring that this gospel of the kingdom must be preached throughout the entire earth, before the end will come. Let's read:
Matthew 28:19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: 20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world.
Matthew 24:14 And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.
Thus it is, that the hands and feet that are to carry the everlasting gospel to a dying world, are those of dedicated Christians who understand the serious import of the messages to be given, and who by faith, live the message in their personal and public lives. The question for us today is are we "Flying in the midst of heaven" with the everlasting gospel, for all to see, or are we now hiding it under a bushel, for fear of ridicule and persecution?
The fact is that a dire situation has obtained in the lives of many Christians, in that because the gospel for our day is highly unpopular, and is looked upon with scorn and even hate by the popular majority, many of us have now gone into hiding in order to preserve ourselves and our jobs, in so much that if we see a fellow worker or a neighbor harboring and practicing errors that are fatal to the soul, we keep our mouths shut, instead of lifting our voice in warning and entreaty. And because of this, many people with whom we interact on a daily basis never, ever hear the good news, that Christ lived and died for them, and is now making up His jewels in the heavenly courts, a work that is soon to close.
We should realize that the plain truths of the gospel will never be popular, and since God has not called us to popularity, we should now be "Flying" high in the heavens with the everlasting gospel, meaning that by pen and voice, via Facebook and twitter, by snap-chat and over the internet, and by "Text messaging" (pun intended), we should be fulfilling the great commission in our neck of the woods, so that the whole world may be lightened with the glory of God, and so that the eternal reign of righteousness can become a reality.
We therefore end with a passage of scripture which encourages us to take up our sacred duties which have been so long neglected, for we are now living on the brink of eternity, and the gross spiritual darkness that now covers the earth as a pall of death is soon to give way to the dawning of eternal day. Let's read:
Isaiah 60:1 Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the Lord is risen upon thee. 2 For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the Lord shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee. 3 And the Gentiles shall come to thy light, and kings to the brightness of thy rising. 4 Lift up thine eyes round about, and see: all they gather themselves together, they come to thee: thy sons shall come from far, and thy daughters shall be nursed at thy side. 5 "Because the abundance of the sea shall be converted unto thee".
May The Lord add His blessing to the study and practice of His every word. God bless!
