Psalm 119:142 Thy righteousness is an everlasting righteousness, and thy law is the truth.
John 8:44 "The devil".... "was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth
These two passages of scripture teach us two very important truths, (1) That whenever the Bible makes reference to "The truth" it is referring to The Living and written Word of God, as is embodied in His law, and (2) That God's law has always been in existence from eternity, from time immemorial, long before this earth was created. The very fact that satan sinned in heaven, means that the law of God existed back then, because the Bible teaches us that sin is the transgression of the law, and also, that where there is now law, there cannot be any sin. These are very momentous truths which must be thoroughly understood by every member of the human family, so as to avoid the pitfalls of popular opinion to the contrary. Let's read:
1st John 3:4 Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.
The law of ten commandments was adapted to suit the human family, but the same principles contained in them apply to every created being in the universe. For instance, there is a common theory which states that the first four commandments govern our relationship with God, and that the last six pertain to our interaction with our fellowmen. Now, while this is true, we must never restrict the application of the last six commandments only to human beings, because in one of our passages for today, Christ states that satan was a murderer from the beginning, which means that he broke the commandment which says "Thou shalt not kill".
Then again, by aspiring to be like The Most High, and to usurp God's place in the heavenly courts, he also broke the law which states "Thou shalt not covet". Again, by spreading the many falsehoods that were circulated in heaven before the creation of the world, and by his deceiving one third of the angels into believing that they could remove Christ from His throne, the devil also lied, and broke the commandment that says "Thou shalt not bear false witness".
Again, when the rebellious angels embarked upon their course of action to overthrow God's government in heaven, they became guilty of the commandment which says "Honor thy Father", and we can go on and on until the correct Biblical conclusion is made, that all of the ten commandments were broken, and existed in heaven, for whosoever breaks one of the ten commandments is guilty of breaking all. Let's read:
James 2:10 For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all. 11 For he that said, Do not commit adultery, said also, Do not kill. Now if thou commit no adultery, yet if thou kill, thou art become a transgressor of the law.
Thus, the erroneous teaching which says that God's law of Ten commandments were only for the Jews, is a great deception, emanating from the father of lies, and has no foundation or merit whatsoever in the scriptures. Furthermore, the belief that it was first given at Sinai is also false, because Adam and Eve could not be guilty of any sin, if the law which says "Thou shalt not steal" was not in existence in the Garden of Eden.
Just because the commandments were not written down in stone at that time, does not mean to say that they were not in existence, and binding upon our first parents, because in our own homes, as parents we have rules and laws which must be followed by our children, and none of those regulations are written down anywhere, yet we expect obedience from our kids, and will hold them responsible, if and when violations do occur.
Let us then not be carried away with any whimsical teachings and false doctrines of devils, that are designed to lead us away from the saving graces of our God, because the law of Ten commandments were given for the very best good of the created universe, and when obeyed and applied in our everyday circumstances, will bode well for ourselves and our posterity. We therefore end with a passage of scripture which should encourage every member of the human family to honor and keep God's holy law, for in the final analysis, there are no downsides to the application of the sacred principles, for every one of them were ordained to life. Let's read:
Psalm 1:1 Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. 2 But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. 3 And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper. 4 The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which the wind driveth away. 5 Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous. 6 For the Lord knoweth the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish.
May The Lord add His blessing to the study and practice of His every word. God bless!
