Revelation 21:1 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. 4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.
This passage of scripture teaches us that the garden of Eden, together with the entire earth, will one day be restored to perfection by the creative power of God, and then the former things of this earth will not be remembered nor come into our minds. This is one of the major promises to the faithful given in the scriptures, for our current memories are often haunted by the gruesome images we often see on the news, of starvation, famine, earthquakes and tornadoes that have torn apart families and left thousands dead. The closer we get to the second coming of Christ, is the more of these pictures we will see, for the fearful departures from the sacred institutions God has given will trigger man-made and natural disasters of epic proportions, which will traumatize the entire planet, this according to the scriptures. Let's read:
Romans 8:22 For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now. 23 And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body.
This is why the promise of Eden restored is of so great importance to those of us who are looking for the return of Christ. When God created the earth, He filled it with flowers of every hue, from bright reds and yellows, to deep purples and blues, every imaginable color and combination thereof was made. And then He created majestic trees, oaks, pines, acacias, and palms which spread their leafy branches far and wide and reached up high into the heavens, as tall as several hundred feet. And thus it was when Adam and Eve were brought upon the stage of action, that their eyes were greeted with beauty and verdure, the likes of which we have never seen, and because of this there could be no forgetfulness of God, for the beauty of the earth always reminded them of a loving Creator, who had provided for their every need.
Thus when the earth shall be restored to its Edenic beauty, The same God who created the earth in the beginning, will again engage His omnipotent power, to bring forth even more abundantly, fruit trees, flowers, animals and birds of every sort, and this time He promises that it will be even more glorious than at the first. It is then our privilege and duty to avail ourselves of God's great salvation through Jesus Christ, for the former things will pass away, and we will be able to hold open communion with The Christ who bled and died to redeem us from sin and its consequences. We therefore end with a promise which reiterates this sacred truth, and it is the will of God that no one should perish, but that all should come to repentance, so that together with saints and angels, we may rejoice in that which He will create. Let's read:
Isaiah 66:22 For as the new heavens and the new earth, which I will make, shall remain before me, saith the Lord, so shall your seed and your name remain. 23 And it shall come to pass, that from one new moon to another, and from one sabbath to another, shall all flesh come to worship before me, saith the Lord.
May God add His blessing to the study of His word. "Good night" and God bless!
