Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.
We live in a fast paced world where it seems as if we are always hurried on from one thing to the next. We drive fast cars, we eat fast foods, and it seems as though there are never enough hours in the day. But amid the hustle and bustle of life, amid it's cares and perplexities, the voice of Jesus Christ can be heard, calling to us through the pages of holy writ saying,"be still and know that I am God". If we heed that call, God is willing and able to bring peace to our troubled minds, joy to our sorrows, and healing to our wounded hearts. So let's trust him today, for his ear is always attentive to our every cry.God bless!
Psalm 127:2 (Evening thought)
It is vain for you to rise up early, to sit up late, to eat the bread of sorrows: for so he giveth his beloved sleep.
Many people often have difficulty going to sleep. Sometimes it can be hard to switch off the thoughts and cares of the day; the work we could not complete, the math problem we could not solve, the boss who had no time to listen, the argument we could not resolve. This text tells us that worrying changes nothing, and therefore God speaks gently to us, inviting us to cast all our cares upon Him, for He cares for us. If by the grace of God, we form the habit of leaving our cares at the feet of Jesus, we would find it much easier to unwind and have a good night's rest, knowing that God is always looking out for our best good. "Good night" and God bless!
