Expect A Blessing. Part [9] 03/17/2025 (Morning thought)

Psalms 27: 14 Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord.

[2] Impatience: This one is huge, for persons often think that God is taking too long, and rather than wait for an unspecified period of time, folks would resort to plan B which almost always causes trouble. When waiting in expectation of a blessing, we must be careful not to box God into the timelines that we may stipulate. The blessing is often right around the corner from impatience, and thus, even though we may have finite deadlines, we shouldn’t try to force God into our time frames.

Speaking of the issue of trying to force God, there is a word of caution to be uttered as it pertains to the disposition that has now surfaced in contemporary Christianity, and that is the tendency to try to bully God into blessing you. Try not to do this please, for in most cases you will go away emptyhanded.

It takes a tremendous amount of self-control for us to wait for the fulness of time, however, we should bear in mind that The Lord is never late, and He is never early. At the precise time He will do whatever He has promised. The Christian just has to wait for it.

Isaiah 40:31 But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

May The Lord add His blessing to the study of His word. God bless!

Expect A Blessing. Part [8] 03/17/2025 (Evening thought)

1st Corinthians 10: 10 Neither murmur ye, as some of them also murmured, and were destroyed of the destroyer.

Before we proceed however, there are a few things that often interfere with the Christian’s expectation from God, and these are enumerated in the Bible so that we may avoid succumbing to the devices of the enemy of souls. [1] Unbelief and Murmuring: The tendency for folks to murmur at God, is often the catalyst for souring the relation, or in some cases, preventing a blessing in this or that situation.

Murmuring also paves the way for persons to view a situation the way the devil sees it. And, whenever persons begin to agree with satan’s views on this or that matter, it could become very difficult to expect a blessing. The following are some synonyms of murmuring, so that we may be able to identify and avoid it, when it may be on the verge of occurring.  Whining, fussing, grumbling, and whimpering.

Therefore, we are strongly advised to avoid this first snare, and instead, we should try to cultivate a spirit of faith and thankfulness in all situations even when at times it may be difficult to do so. Looking on the brighter side of life, by bringing to remembrance the blessings and deliverances of God to us in former years will greatly help us in keeping our heads lifted to the skies.

1st Thessalonians 5: 18 In everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. 19 Quench not the Spirit.

May God add His blessing to the study of His word. “Good night” and God bless!
