Expect A Blessing. Part [5] 03/15/2025 (Morning thought)

The believer must always leave open the possibility that God may hand out a freebie blessing, if He so chooses. He is fully able to do this if He decides to, and thus, a balanced faith will expect to pay for the home, while leaving open the possibility that God could give you it for free. One of the reasons why the Christian finds himself at times thinking within the confines of humanistic limitations, is because we have become so frozen in earthly systems that in many cases we immediately write off God from being able to do such and such.

And, whenever folks scratch off the possibility of a blessing, or a miracle, we usually become restricted to receiving only to the extent of what we believe. If He so chooses, God can provide free meals, and free housing at His discretion, if the person’s faith could handle the mere possibility. Whenever a need arises, or an emergency comes our way, in some instances the mode of thought is relegated to finite ways, and means, and in some instances, God is left out of the equation for last.

Now, even though we are taught in the scripture to utilize available resources, we should cultivate the habit of including God up front, because you never know what He may do in this or that situation. Here is an instance where God provided free meals, room and board for His servant.

2nd Kings 4: 8 And it fell on a day, that Elisha passed to Shunem, where was a great woman; and she constrained him to eat bread. And so it was, that as often as he passed by, he turned in thither to eat bread.

May The Lord add His blessing to the study of His word. God bless!

Expect A Blessing. Part [4] 03/15/2025 (Evening thought)

Matthew 8:10 When Jesus heard it, he marveled, and said to them that followed, Verily I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel.

According to the Scriptures, it is not even necessary for Him to be present at any particular location, for God is omnipresent, and therefore, His miracles and blessings could transcend any specific geographical location, or restriction. The reason why Christ marveled at the man’s faith is because the man had the correct perspective on the power of God, which incorporates the essentials of no limits whatsoever, and absolutely no restrictions. In other words, as faith lays hold on Omnipotence it believes and understands that God can do anything.

However, we stated earlier that the track of faith lies very close to the track of presumption and therefore we need to study another scenario, so that we could manage our expectations prudently. Just because God could do anything, and since He is The Sovereign owner of everything on our planet He can, and He often gives believers things for free, yet, because we are immersed in earthly systems, ways and means, we must harbor balanced, and realistic views, and perspectives.

For instance, if a Christian needs a house, he should expect to pay for it, just like anyone else, following the mortgage application processes, with his down payment for we are not to believe that just because God is Sovereign owner, that we will just move into a home without paying. That is not faith, it is called squatting.

Matthew 8:8 The centurion answered and said, Lord, I am not worthy that thou shouldest come under my roof: but speak the word only, and my servant shall be healed. 9 For I am a man under authority, having soldiers under me: and I say to this man, Go, and he goes; and to another, Come, and he cometh; and to my servant, Do this, and he doeth it.

May God add His blessing to the study of His word. “Good night” and God bless!
