Expect A Blessing. Part [3] 03/14/2025 (Morning thought)

1st Samuel 20:3 And David swore moreover, and said, Thy father certainly knows that I have found grace in thine eyes; and he saith, Let not Jonathan know this, lest he be grieved: but truly as the Lord lives, and as thy soul lives, there is but a step between me and death.

In fact, the same writer goes on to speak of some of his own experiences in which he seemed to be living on the edge for a while, having to look er his shoulders constantly. Thus, even though David leaned upon the promises of deliverances, and even though he expected the blessing, he did not presume to think that in every single instance, this would be the case, and that he would have smooth sailing in every situation.

Therefore, we should pay very close attention to the following. First of all, God can do anything except lie and He is not restricted to what we often see as the only options on the table. God has a thousand ways of doing the very same thing. In other words, if He has promised to heal you, He is not limited, nor restricted to conventional ways and means. He can touch you, He can speak the healing.

He can use clay, He can use spit, He can use a rod He could use a tree, He could use a doctor, a nurse, an Elder, a Pastor, or a layman. And yet, God is not limited or restricted to any or all of the above, for He can just think the blessing into reality, and a person will receive it. Therefore, the outlook, and perspective of the Christian, as far as expecting a blessing is concerned, is to always leave the door wide open, because you never know what God will do.

Matthew 8:5 And when Jesus was entered into Capernaum, there came unto him a centurion, beseeching him, 6 And saying, Lord, my servant lieth at home sick of the palsy, grievously tormented. 7 And Jesus saith unto him, I will come and heal him.

May The Lord add His blessing to the study of His word. God bless!

Expect A Blessing. Part [2] 03/14/2025 (Evening thought)

Luke 1:35 And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God. 36 And, behold, thy cousin Elisabeth, she hath also conceived a son in her old age: and this is the sixth month with her, who was called barren. 37 For with God nothing shall be impossible.

Thus, it is fitting that we revisit our mode of thought when it comes to the exercising of intelligent faith in God. One thing we must always bear in mind is that presumption lies very close to the track of faith, and at times the Christian might experience difficulty in differentiating between the two. To presume is to suppose that something is the case merely on the basis of probability.

Assuming, or just taking things for granted does not necessarily mean that in every case the promises of God will apply in your particular circumstance, exactly as stated. For instance, there is a passage in Scripture where it says that when this believer cries, the Lord delivers him out of all his troubles. The next verse speaks of the angel of The Lord encamping around them who fear Him and what is the expected result.

To conclude that this will be the case in every given situation, or for persons to expect that the passages would be fulfilled to the letter, exactly as stated with no possibility of any variation would be to presume that the blessing is guaranteed in any circumstance. In other words, just because folks believe a promise and they might expect a blessing does not mean to say that in every situation it would pan out without exception.

Psalms 34:6 This poor man cried, and the Lord heard him, and saved him out of all his troubles. 7 The angel of the Lord encamps round about them that fear him and delivers them.

May God add His blessing to the study of His word. “Good night” and God bless!
