At the brook Cherith, there was no Medicaid or Medicare available, no pharmacy with meds if Elijah needed, and his food and drink, and everything that pertains to life were all supplied by God alone. We should now be availing ourselves of those often opportunities God gives us to walk by faith, learning the all-important lesson of trusting in Jesus alone. Yes, it is true, that while time lasts, we might access those conventional ways and means we’ve become so accustomed to over the years.
Psalms 103:1 Bless the Lord, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name. 2 Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits. 3 Who forgives all thine iniquities; who heals all thy diseases; 4 Who redeems your life from destruction; who crowns thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies; 5 Who satisfies thy mouth with good things; so that your youth is renewed like the eagle's.
However, the Christian should also bear in mind that great changes are on the way, and that which we’ve known and done for years, will be upended. Faith in God alone takes time and practice, and thus, if you are currently on meds, on an ongoing basis, please consider the last resort, when all else fails, for you never know, God may leave a blessing at your front door. We therefore end with a passage of Scripture that will help us to remember that there is an option of last resort in God, and we will encourage all those who have health and medical issues to turn to Him, when all else fails.
Psalms 91:4 He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.
