Beware Of These Scammers. Part [7] 09/12/2026 (Evening thought)

Ecclesiastes 5:2 Be not rash with thy mouth, and let not thine heart be hasty to utter anything before God: for God is in heaven, and thou upon the earth: therefore, let thy words be few.

Persons will genuinely need help, and the Christian is expected by God to step up to the plate and offer assistance when appeals for help are made. Special reserve funds will be needed because of the many dangers, and emergencies that are coming upon the planet, and we should not sit idly by with our hands folded, as persons go over the cliff. However, even in the exercise of benevolences you will need God’s guidance and direction.

This is because the scammers will appeal to your sympathies, and if you do not form the habit of praying about everything it will just be a matter of time before you will be taken in the snare of the devil. This leads us into our study for today, in which we will discover that even the most-godly men are not immune from these scammers. Joshua was a godly man, and he got scammed, as persons appealed to his tender sympathies.

As the Gibeonites plotted their strategy, they used a familiar line of reasoning that would move Joshua to make a commitment that he would greatly regret in the future. In fact, they swore by a solemn oath to fulfill their pledge, even as they were outraged at the scammers, because a vow is a vow, if it is made unto God….. Ecclesiastes 5:5 Better is it that thou shouldest not vow, than that thou shouldest vow and not pay.

Ecclesiastes 5:3 For a dream cometh through the multitude of business; and a fool's voice is known by multitude of words.

May God add His blessing to the study of His word. “Good night” and God bless!
