What Would You Sell Your Birthright For? Part [13] 07/03/2026 (Evening thought)

Hebrews 11: 24 By faith Moses, when he was come to years, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh's daughter; 25 Choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season.

The question posed in the title of the study is one that is most personal, and calls for an introspect examination of the deepest thoughts and intents of the heart. Is there anything so valuable to you, that you may consider selling your birthright for? The wheeling and dealing that goes on from day to day, as many persons trade their birthrights, is one of the issues that will converge during crunch time.

The prince of darkness will love to purchase yours for any price you may ask. But, the word of God to us sheds great light on the correct course of action to pursue. Daniel and his companions refused to sell theirs, if it meant dying in the process. Joseph also refused to sell his, choosing rather to suffer affliction instead. Jesus refused to sell His, even though hunger pangs gnawed at His stomach, and Peter refused to sell his when he was offered some money, in exchange for the Holy Ghost.

Let it never be said of you and me, that we would consider selling our birthright for any reason, for the sacrifice made for our redemption is of infinite value and should never ever be up for sale. We will have our struggles, the lusts of the flesh may beckon us in various ways, and the bling and things of earth may be passed in panoramic view before our eyes.

Hebrews 11:26 Esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt: for he had respect unto the recompence of the reward.

May God add His blessing to the study of His word. “Good night” and God bless!
