1st Corinthians 15:51 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,
In trying to cope with the loss of loved ones in our day, we are uniquely positioned to possibly witness with our own two eyes, a fulfillment of the blessed hope in which faith would give way to reality in the not-too distant future. The question for us who are alive is will we cross the threshold of 1000 years, when Christ returns, or will we fall short. Coping with loss should also include a trust in God’s promises of the first resurrection, for this is what will make all the difference at the end of the day.
1st Corinthians 15:52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. 53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. 54 So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.
1st Corinthians 15:55 O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory? 57 But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ….. We therefore end with a passage of Scripture that will enable us to keep our heads lifted to the skies, because final movements will be rapid ones, and the phenomenon of death will soon become a thing of the past, wherefore, comfort one another with these words.
1st Corinthians 15:58 Therefore, my beloved brethren, be you steadfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as you know that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.
