Heaven, A Place of Surprises. Part [16] 03/20/2026 (Morning thought)

Acts 17:30 And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commands all men every where to repent.

[Early Writings pp 258] If William Miller could have seen the light of the third message, many things which looked dark and mysterious to him would have been explained. But his brethren professed so deep love and interest for him, that he thought he could not tear away from them. His heart would incline toward the truth, and then he looked at his brethren; they opposed it. Could he tear away from those who had stood side by side with him in proclaiming the coming of Jesus? He thought they surely would not lead him astray.

Early Writings pp 258] God suffered him to fall under the power of Satan, the dominion of death, and hid him in the grave from those who were constantly drawing him from the truth. God suffered him to fall under the power of Satan, the dominion of death, and hid him in the grave from those who were constantly drawing him from the truth. Heaven will be a place of surprises and therefore we are to see in everyone a potential candidate for the kingdom of God.

You never know, the ones who may seem to be unlikely citizens of heaven may be the very ones, persons sit next to at the welcome table. Let us therefore not write off anyone, and let us try by God’s grace to be faithful, so that the you and me in the here and now, could be the you and me in the great hereafter. We end with a passage of Scripture that will encourage us to do so.

2nd Peter 3: 9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

May The Lord add His blessing to the study of His word. God bless!
