Heaven, A Place of Surprises. Part [12] 03/18/2026 (Morning thought)

Matthew 13:29 But he said no; lest while you gather up the tares you root up also the wheat with them.

What do you do with one who has publicly denied knowing Jesus? Not on one occasion, but repeatedly with cursing and swearing? Would we be prone to go uproot him as a tare, or would we follow what is spoken by Christ, to let them grow together until the harvest? There are times, when in rare circumstances, church members may have to consider a case where one of their own has denied Christ in word and deed in the public square.

And by doing so, the person may have brought the cause of God into reproach. If ever, or whenever churches are faced with such a situation, great care must be taken to follow Christ’s instructions on handling such a delicate matter, for you never know, a decision that is not guided by The Spirit of God, and by the teaching of Scripture might cause a wheat to become discouraged. If it were the case back then, where a vote either for or against Peter was to take place, one who was to be an apostle could have been disfellowshipped from the church.

Thus, Jesus cautions His people to take great care when a decision of this nature is to be made. Heaven will be a place of surprises, where the most unlikely people will be present while stars who were once known for their brilliance would be nowhere to be found. Thus, The Lord who died to redeem us all instructs us as to what course of action to pursue should a scenario of disfellowship ever have to be considered.

Galatians 6:1 Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, you which are spiritual, restore such a one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted. 2 Bear you one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.

May The Lord add His blessing to the study of His word. God bless!
