Till Debt Do Us Part. Part [13] 10/21/2026 (Evening thought)

1st Kings 17:15 And she went and did according to the saying of Elijah: and she, and he, and her house, did eat many days.

As financial stresses, burdens and debts take a toll on the Christian, many are resorting to cutting back on what they return to God, or what they give for benevolent purposes. As a result, the estimates are signaling that over 100,000 Christian churches are going to close, or be repurposed within the next ten years in America. The woman in the narrative gave her last lunch, and the woman in the New Testament gave her only two mites, yet God was honored by their benevolence.

And He would take care of you and me, if we follow their lead. Here is the same principle at work in the Scriptures, for it can make all the difference in your efforts to pay down debt….. John 6:5 When Jesus then lifted up his eyes, and saw a great company come unto him, he saith unto Philip, whence shall we buy bread, that these may eat? 6 And this he said to prove him: for he himself knew what he would do.

John 6:7 Philip answered him, two hundred penny-worth of bread is not sufficient for them, that every one of them may take a little. 8 One of his disciples, Andrew, Simon Peter's brother, saith unto him, 9 There is a lad here, which hath five barley loaves, and two small fishes: but what are they among so many?

John 6:11 And Jesus took the loaves; and when he had given thanks, he distributed to the disciples, and the disciples to them that were set down; and likewise of the fishes as much as they would.

May God add His blessing to the study of His word. “Good night” and God bless!
