1st Samuel 24:2 Then Saul took three thousand chosen men out of all Israel, and went to seek David and his men upon the rocks of the wild goats. 3 And he came to the sheepcotes by the way, where was a cave; and Saul went in to cover his feet: and David and his men remained in the sides of the cave.
Here is the same providence again, because there are some vital lessons we have to learn well, if we’re to survive during prime time. In all of the troubles, and trials that are scheduled for earth’s final crisis, the Christian must be led by the word of God and The Holy Spirit in all things. In other words, no matter how trying or dangerous the situation, the Christian must not take it upon himself to do or say things that are not in harmony with the written word, or are out of step with the promptings of The Holy Ghost.
1st Samuel 24:4 And the men of David said unto him, Behold the day of which the Lord said unto thee, Behold, I will deliver thine enemy into thine hand, that thou mayest do to him as it shall seem good unto thee. Then David arose, and cut off the skirt of Saul's robe privily. 5 And it came to pass afterward, that David's heart smote him, because he had cut off Saul's skirt.
David’s men were still unwilling to leave Saul in peace, and they reminded their commander of the words of God, “Behold, I will deliver thine enemy into thine hand, that thou mayest do to him as it shall seem good unto thee. Then David arose, and cut off the skirt of Saul’s robe privily.” But his conscience smote him afterward, because he had even marred the garment of the king.
1st Samuel 24:6 And he said unto his men, The Lord forbid that I should do this thing unto my master, the Lord's anointed, to stretch forth mine hand against him, seeing he is the anointed of the Lord.
May God add His blessing to the study of His word. “Good night” and God bless!
