Two Sides To A Story. Part [10] 08/18/2025 (Morning thought)

1st Kings 3:25 And the king said, Divide the living child in two, and give half to the one, and half to the other.

1st Kings 3:26 Then spoke the woman, whose the living child was unto the king, for her bowels yearned upon her son, and she said, O my lord, give her the living child, and in no wise slay it. But the other said, let it be neither mine nor thine, but divide it….. It’s very rare where you hear persons say it was my fault. Especially is this the case when grave matters between spouses may get blown out into the public square.

One spouse might present their side of the story, with bias, so as to make the other the villain. The other spouse, on the other hand, feeling that the entire truth was not spoken in the matter, might get defensive and may make self-justification efforts to clear his or her name. Now, while it is true that we are all struggling to do that which is right, and pleasing in God’s sight, the fact is that there will be instances in our experience when for some reason or another, issues will bubble up to the surface.

Those who are tasked with listening and giving their two cents in these matters should, like Solomon be in tune with God, so that their conclusions, and the determinations emanating from their lips will bear the stamp of God’s approval…. 27 Then the king answered and said, Give her the living child, and in no wise slay it: she is the mother thereof.

1st Kings 3:28 And all Israel heard of the judgment which the king had judged; and they feared the king: for they saw that the wisdom of God was in him, to do judgment.

May The Lord add His blessing to the study of His word. God bless!
