Matthew 27:39 And they that passed by reviled him, wagging their heads, 40 And saying, Thou that destroys the temple, and builds it in three days, save thyself. If thou be the Son of God, come down from the cross.
Matthew 27:41 Likewise also the chief priests mocking him, with the scribes and elders, said, 42 He saved others; himself he cannot save. If he be the King of Israel, let him now come down from the cross, and we will believe him…. Mark 15: 32 Let Christ the King of Israel descend now from the cross, that we may see and believe. And they that were crucified with him reviled him.
John 7:1 After these things Jesus walked in Galilee: for he would not walk in Jewry, because the Jews sought to kill him. 3 His brethren therefore said unto him, Depart hence, and go into Judaea, that thy disciples also may see the works that thou doest. 4 For there is no man that doeth anything in secret, and he himself seeks to be known openly. If thou do these things, shew thyself to the world.
Now brethren, please consider carefully what Jesus is saying and the implications of His response. When He says “My time is not yet come” Jesus is no doubt referring to His death on Calvary, and thus The Lord is implying that by going up to Jerusalem before the appointed time given by The Father, He would cut His ministry short. Now, going up to Jerusalem was not a bad thing in and of itself.
John 7:6 Then Jesus said unto them, My time is not yet come: but your time is always ready.
May The Lord add His blessing to the study of His word. God bless!
