The Doctrine Of Ownership. Part [17] 02/17/2025 (Evening thought)

Daniel 12:1 And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which stands for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book.

[Testimonies Vol. 5 pp 712>713] There is a prospect before us of a continued struggle, at the risk of imprisonment, loss of property, and even of life itself, to defend the law of God, which is made void by the laws of men. In this situation worldly policy will urge an outward compliance with the laws of the land, for the sake of peace and harmony. And there are some who will even urge such a course from the Scripture: “Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers.... The powers that be are ordained of God.”

But what has been the course of God's servants in ages past? When the disciples preached Christ and Him crucified, after His resurrection, the authorities commanded them not to speak any more nor to teach in the name of Jesus. “But Peter and John answered and said unto them, Whether it be right in the sight of God to hearken unto you more than unto God, judge ye. For we cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard.” They continued to preach the good news of salvation through Christ, and the power of God witnessed to the message.

[LTSMS 10 par 39] “In cases where we are brought before the courts we are to give up our rights unless it brings us in collision with God. It is not our rights we are pleading for, but God’s right to our service. “Instead of resisting the penalties imposed unjustly upon us, it would be better to take heed to the Savior’s words: ‘When they persecute you in this city, flee you into another…” We therefore end with a passage of Scripture that will help us to walk with a steady and even thread, even as we live in an increasingly troubled world.

John 14:1 Let not your heart be troubled: you believe in God, believe also in me. 2 In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.

.May God add His blessing to the study of His word. “Good night” and God bless!
