Forward Ever, Backward Never. Part [10] 12/14/2025 (Evening thought)

1st Samuel 17:34 And David said unto Saul, your servant kept his father's sheep, and there came a lion, and a bear, and took a lamb out of the flock.

1st Samuel 17:35 And I went out after him, and smote him, and delivered it out of his mouth: and when he arose against me, I caught him by his beard, and smote him, and slew him. 37 David said moreover, The Lord that delivered me out of the paw of the lion, and out of the paw of the bear, he will deliver me out of the hand of this Philistine. And Saul said unto David, Go, and the Lord be with thee.

It's the very same issue that arose years earlier with the giants in the land of Canaan, when, on account of their size, the people became very discouraged and turned back. And now, with a similar situation before them, they seemed to forget what God did for them back then, and this caused them to flee in terror…. [Testimonies 9, pp 10] We have nothing to fear for the future, except as we shall forget the way the Lord has led us, and his teaching in our past history.

There is no such thing as a genuine Christian who does not have distinct experiences of deliverance or blessings from God. If you do not, then something is wrong. God bids us believe His word and we should, but it’s the living, literal experiences in our lives that confirm our faith, to make it solid as a rock…. Psalms 78:40 How oft did they provoke him in the wilderness, and grieve him in the desert!

Psalms 78:41 Yea, they turned back and tempted God, and limited the Holy One of Israel. 42 They remembered not his hand, nor the day when he delivered them from the enemy.

May God add His blessing to the study of His word. “Good night” and God Bless!
