Psalms 18:9 He bowed the heavens also, and came down: and darkness was under his feet. 11 He made darkness his secret place; his pavilion round about him were dark waters and thick clouds of the skies.
Luke 2:8 And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. 9 And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid. 10 And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. 11 For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, which is Christ the Lord.
Matthew 27:43 He trusted in God; let him deliver him now, if he will have him: for he said, I am the Son of God. 45 Now from the sixth hour there was darkness over all the land unto the ninth hour. 51 And, behold, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom; and the earth did quake, and the rocks rent; 52 And the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints which slept arose, 53 And came out of the graves after his resurrection, and went into the holy city, and appeared unto many.
[The Great Controversy pp 636] It is at midnight that God manifests his power for the deliverance of his people. Signs and wonders follow in quick succession. The wicked look with terror and amazement upon the scene, while the righteous behold with solemn joy the tokens of their deliverance. Everything in nature seems turned out of its course. The streams cease to flow. Dark, heavy clouds come up, and clash against each other. The mountains shake like a reed in the wind and ragged rocks are scattered on every side.
Isaiah 60:2 For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the Lord shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee.
May The Lord add His blessing to the study of His word. God bless!
