Now, some might be wondering why it is important to correctly decipher truth from error. The reason is that it could turn out to be a life and death matter in the not-too-distant future as the world is now being prepared and groomed for the final conflicts of the ages, when anything, and everything that could be shaken, will be shaken. Whenever you’re in doubt about some philosophy, some sentiment, statement, doctrine, some saying, or some sermon, do not stop until you’ve read for yourself what the word of God says on the matter.
It does not matter who you may have heard it from. It may have been from a professor, a teacher, pastor an elder, a televangelist, or you might have heard it from one of the prominent bishops of the day such as T.D. Jakes, Creflo Dollar, or even on Omega-truth. You should still go ahead, and verify it for yourself from the word of God, because trusted sources are finite and can genuinely make inadvertent mistakes.
In this way you would have done due diligence, by not assuming that even trusted sources are infallible and you would have personal conviction of the truth in the matter. Man is mortal and finite, and we can, and do make mistakes inadvertently at times. Therefore, it is not a good idea to place implicit trust even in a trusted source, without doing the personal investigation of the Scriptures, because, as was said previously, man is finite and makes mistakes, even in sincerity.
Psalms 119:1 Blessed are the undefiled in the way, who walk in the law of the Lord. 2 Blessed are they that keep his testimonies, and that seek him with the whole heart. 3 They also do no iniquity: they walk in his ways. 4 Thou hast commanded us to keep thy precepts diligently. 5 O that my ways were directed to keep thy statutes! 6 Then shall I not be ashamed, when I have respect unto all thy commandments.
