Your Incredible Freedom of Choice. Part [5] 07/17/2024 (Evening thought)

Luke 14:23 And the lord said unto the servant, Go out into the highways and hedges and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled.

This does not mean that a baseball bat must also be employed, whenever witnessing to any prospective candidates for heaven. The seed of the Gospel must be sown besides all waters, and through a person’s choice and desire, it may or may not germinate and come to fruition. It all has to do with your incredible freedom of choice.

When the Gospel is presented to people, persuasion and conviction by The Holy Ghost can be employed, but when it comes down to the decision, they must be left free and clear to make deliberate, intelligent choices. The human mind is left untrammeled by God, so that persons can make uncoerced decisions. And it is in this context that we must interpret what might seem on the surface like God forcing pharaoh to do something against his own will.

Basically, in a nutshell, it never happened and never will. Pharaoh, like all other intelligent, free moral agents, was left to choose to be in harmony, or out of harmony with God’s revealed will. But, after repeatedly deciding to do otherwise, like as it was with Isaac God worked through the natural stubbornness of the king, to get His will done. But if pharaoh had chosen to obey, he would immediately be in God’s good graces, just like Nebuchadnezzar.

Exodus 9:34 And when Pharaoh saw that the rain and the hail and the thunders were ceased, he sinned yet more, and hardened his heart, he and his servants. 35 And the heart of Pharaoh was hardened, neither would he let the children of Israel go; as the Lord had spoken by Moses.

May God add His blessing to the study of His word. “Good night” and God bless!
