How The Christian Handles Inflation. Part [10] 06/30/2024 (Morning thought)

Numbers 11:And the mixt multitude that was among them fell a lusting: and the children of Israel also wept again, and said, Who shall give us flesh to eat? We remember the fish, which we did eat in Egypt freely; the cucumbers, and the melons, and the leeks, and the onions, and the garlic: But now our soul is dried away: there is nothing at all, beside this manna, before our eyes.

[2] Being open to adaptation. Being open to adaptation has to do with our willingness to adapt to emerging circumstances, where we might have to do things that we would rather prefer not to do. Humility in the real world calls for adaptation as God may lead in this or that direction.

After the children of Israel left Egypt, they struggled to adapt to their new circumstances, in which the previous foods, amenities, and conveniences they had gotten accustomed to in Egypt, were no longer available, and this in turn triggered murmuring and complaints until they took up stones to stone Moses and Aaron.

In the context of adjusting to inflationary pressures, the you and me in the here and now may have to do jobs that we would prefer not to do, under normal, or under different circumstances. The apostle Paul had found it necessary to use his trade in order for him to support himself, and even though he greatly preferred to be preaching, yet, if and when it became necessary, Paul was humble enough to work with his hands.

Acts 18:1 After these things Paul departed from Athens, and came to Corinth; 2 And found a certain Jew named Aquila, born in Pontus, lately come from Italy, with his wife Priscilla; (because that Claudius had commanded all Jews to depart from Rome:) and came unto them. 3 And because he was of the same craft, he abode with them, and wrought: for by their occupation they were tentmakers.

May The Lord add His blessing to the study of His word. God bless!
