Acts 1:16 Men and brethren, this scripture must needs have been fulfilled, which the Holy Ghost by the mouth of David spoke before concerning Judas, which was guide to them that took Jesus. 17 For he was numbered with us, and had obtained part of this ministry.
The scriptural references in the New Testament point us directly, and unmistakably to the fact that it is the experiences of Christ, with Judas as His betrayer, that David was referring to, and not to David himself venting a personal vendetta against some unknown person, as is clearly manifested in the above passages, and those which follow next. When the Bible is made to be its own interpreter, it leaves no doubt as to who exactly David is referring to in Psalms 109.
Acts 1:20 For it is written in the book of Psalms, Let his habitation be desolate, and let no man dwell therein: and his bishopric let another take. 24 And they prayed, and said, Thou, Lord, who knows the hearts of all men, shew whether of these two thou hast chosen, 25 That he may take part of this ministry and apostleship, from which Judas by transgression fell, that he might go to his own place.
Matthew 26: 14 Then one of the twelve, called Judas Iscariot, went unto the chief priests, 15 And said unto them, What will you give me, and I will deliver him unto you? And they covenanted with him for thirty pieces of silver. 16 And from that time he sought opportunity to betray him. 21 And as they did eat, he said, Verily I say unto you, that one of you shall betray me.
Psalms 109:13 Let his posterity be cut off; and in the generation following let their name be blotted out.
May God add His blessing to the study of His word. “Good night” and God bless!
