Matthew 24:21 For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be. 22 And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened.
You will observe that in all of the news media reporting on the increasing frequency and intensity of hurricanes and other natural disasters, no direct link is being made to the prophecies of the Bible, for the references are in a vague format, leaving listeners to draw their own conclusions. Here are a few examples from the horse’s mouth, of what we are referring to:
CNN “We have had biblical proportions of rain over the night and into the day,” Halifax Mayor Mike Savage said Saturday. Sun July 23, 2023. ABC News: Rain of 'biblical proportions': Fort Lauderdale residents stranded in homes, cars. April 14, 2023, 11:59 AM. CBS News: Here's how Hurricane Helene brought "biblical devastation" to western North Carolina in a near "worst-case scenario" October 1, 2024. Newsweek: Asheville Mayor Esther Manheimer described the devastation as a "post-apocalyptic scene" during an interview on CNN. Sep 30, 2024.
Just to be clear, the word of God links these things to the 2nd coming of Christ, as they are predicted to increase in frequency and severity, and it also tells us that we are to expect increasing devastation from natural disasters, the closer we get to the coming of The Lord.
Matthew 24:6 And you shall hear of wars and rumors of wars: see that you be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. 7 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. 8 All these are the beginning of sorrows.
May The Lord add His blessing to the study of His word. God bless!
