Psalms 73:1 Truly God is good to Israel, even to such as are of a clean heart. 2 But as for me, my feet were almost gone; my steps had well-nigh slipped. 3 For I was envious at the foolish, when I saw the prosperity of the wicked.
Let none be deceived concerning this sacred truth: Living without Jesus will bring you more problems than if you are a Christian. The unbeliever may seem for the time being, to be riding high, but sooner, or later there will be major problems coming down the road, just ask Diddy Combs.
Psalms 73:5 They are not in trouble as other men; neither are they plagued like other men. 13 Verily I have cleansed my heart in vain, and washed my hands in innocence. 14 For all the day long have I been plagued, and chastened every morning. 16 When I thought to know this, it was too painful for me; 17 Until I went into the sanctuary of God; then I understood their end. 19 How are they brought into desolation, as in a moment! they are utterly consumed with terrors.
Thus, the Scriptures do not propose to insulate any person from any problems or depression. Instead, it teaches us how to deal with problems prudently, so as to minimize the risks, and losses which could pile up really quickly. Job suffered some of the more serious triggering mechanisms for the onset of major depression. Job, who was an upright man, was going his merry way, when out of the blue, without any prior warning, his world started to unravel really quickly.
John 16: 33 These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world you shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.
May The Lord add His blessing to the study of His word. God bless!
