Why God Does Not Always Intervene. Part [7] 07/22/2023 (Evening thought)

Genesis 39:2 And the Lord was with Joseph, and he was a prosperous man; and he was in the house of his master the Egyptian. 3 And his master saw that the Lord was with him, and that the Lord made all that he did to prosper in his hand.

Again, when God has blessed us with finances, and resources, we may manage them prudently, or, like the prodigal son, we may go splurging on blings and things. But if we were to run into trouble, God is not obligated to deliver, nor is He compelled to reverse the natural results of our course of action. In His great mercy and love, He may choose to do so and we would always encourage persons to repent and pray for pardon and deliverance, but as far as God being obligated to show mercy, it’s an absolute non-starter.

Luke 15:11 And he said, A certain man had two sons. 12 And the younger of them said to his father, Father, give me the portion of goods that falls to me. And he divided unto them his living. 13 And not many days after the younger son gathered all together, and took his journey into a far country, and there wasted his substance with riotous living. 14 And when he had spent all, there arose a mighty famine in that land; and he began to be in want.

[Special Testimonies June 15 1904] Temptations will come to you to indulge selfish desires. Yield not to them. Restrain your inclination for expensive clothing and rich furniture. It is the express duty of all believers to live with simplicity. Money saved is worth as much as money earned. Money is of value, and to spend it needlessly, to gratify the inclination for expensive clothing or costly furniture, is to set an example that turns the lame, those weak in faith and moral power, out of the way.

Luke 16:15 And he went and joined himself to a citizen of that country; and he sent him into his fields to feed swine. 16 And he would fain have filled his belly with the husks that the swine did eat: and no man gave unto him.

May God add His blessing to the study of His word. “Good night” and God bless!
