The Unadulterated Word Of God. Part [11] 11/09/2023 (Evening thought)

2nd Kings 22:12 And the king commanded Hilkiah the priest, and Ahikam the son of Shaphan, and Achbor the son of Michaiah, and Shaphan the scribe, and Asahiah a servant of the king's, saying, 13 Go ye, enquire of the Lord for me, and for the people, and for all Judah, concerning the words of this book that is found: for great is the wrath of the Lord that is kindled against us, because our fathers have not hearkened unto the words of this book, to do according unto all that which is written concerning us.

We notice that in his utter dismay after hearing the words of the law that king Josiah sent to Huldah the prophetess, for the correct interpretations of what was read. Let’s repeat, so that no one misses it. You will notice that after hearing the law the king sent to the ordained prophet to get the right interpretation.

The grave and urgent nature of what was read from the book of the law, can be judged by the urgency of what the king does next for he seems to sense some impending doom, or imminent danger to the nation, and because of this, he now springs into high gear.

Similarly, as nations, governments, and individuals become perplexed by the never-ending troubles on this earth, and as heads of states and religious and secular leaders seem to be playing whack-a-mole in real time with the bewildering problems of planet earth;

 2nd Kings 22:14 So Hilkiah the priest, and Ahikam, and Achbor, and Shaphan, and Asahiah, went unto Huldah the prophetess, the wife of Shallum the son of Tikvah, the son of Harhas, keeper of the wardrobe; (now she dwelt in Jerusalem in the college;) and they communed with her.

May God add His blessing to the study of His word. “Good night” and God bless!
