The Unadulterated Word Of God. Part [1] 11/04/2023 (Evening thought)

2nd Peter 1:19 We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto you do well that you take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts.

For many years, persons have studied the word of God with various explanations, and interpretations that are based on Bible commentaries, and views or research, which in many cases have been productive of good, whereas in other cases, have only served to make more obscure, what God has made plain.

The various commentaries treat upon the historical linguistic, and cultural contexts of Scripture so that they give a broad view of the passages in question, and could greatly help with the Hebrew, and Greek and many of the ancient languages used. However, now that we have the translated Bible at our disposal the study of God’s word should and can be engaged on a personal level so that if a person so desires, God can speak directly to the heart through the pages of holy writ.

Divergent views exist today on some of the plainest utterances of scripture, and there are to be found so many interpretations of prophecy, that the mind can be inundated and confused, if the methodology that is stipulated by God, for the study of His word, is not followed.

2nd Peter 1:20 Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. 21 For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.

May God add His blessing to the study of His word. “Good night” and God bless!
