Deuteronomy 11:26 Behold, I set before you this day a blessing and a curse; 27 A blessing, if you obey the commandments of the Lord your God, which I command you this day: 28 And a curse, if you will not obey the commandments of the Lord your God, but turn aside out of the way which I command you this day, to go after other gods, which you have not known.
The first Amendment: Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and petition the government for a redress of grievances.
However, our first passage made reference to a king of fierce countenance, who would come upon the stage of action, at some point in time in the history of the world and after digging through the annals of world history, we discover that Daniel was referring to the pagan, and then papal Roman empire, which arose after the divisions of the Macedonian empire under Alexander the great became weak.
Thus, when papal Rome came upon the world stage, it gradually introduced religious dogmas, and edicts that would over time, force the individuals under its jurisdiction to worship God according to the laws of state. The use of force in getting individuals to comply is particularly mentioned in Daniel and in Revelation.
Revelation 13:13 And he doeth great wonders, so that he makes fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men, 14 And deceives them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live.
