Romans 8:13 For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live. 14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.
The same victory promised in the above passages applies to tendencies and propensities which have become deeply etched into a person’s DNA because of generations of indulgence by one’s progenitors. As David’s son, Solomon should have studied the failings, and the missteps of his father, especially since he was the son of Bathsheba.
Then as he traced from cause to effect, the downfall of his father, he should have made a resolute, and a deliberate choice, never to walk in David’s footsteps on that point, ever. This leads us to the next pointer in reversing generational curses. We would have to cooperate with God for it to work.
Victory never falls into a person’s lap by accident. It takes diligence, stick-to it-ive-ness, and well directed efforts on a continuum, for any palpable results to be realized. As Joseph studied the history of Jacob, his father, with his four wives, and the multitude of troubles, arguments, fussing, and fighting that took place in his home, Joseph decided that the buck will absolutely stop at his front door.
Philippians 2:12 Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. 13 For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.
May God add His blessing to the study of His word. “Good night” and God bless!
