Luke 21:28 And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draws nigh.
The question for us earthlings is: what should our appropriate response be, to knowing these things? Christ gives us the answer, for after enumerating the various signs that would precede His 2nd coming He then bids us to “Look up”.
Looking up entails a change in perspective, outlook, priorities, and anticipation, for whereas in former years, persons would be consumed with planning for, and focusing heavily on retirement, the signs of the times taking place currently, raise the prospect that some may never need to retire, because the possibility exists that some who are now living may never pass through the portals of the tomb.
It is a mind-boggling possibility yet, according to the Scriptures, it will become a reality at some point in this earth’s history, in the not too distant, future; so let us repeat again, so that you may be certain that you are hearing correctly: The scripture raises the prospect that some Christians living today might never pass through the portals of the tomb.
1st Corinthians 15: 51 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, 52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
May God add His blessing to the study of His word. “Good night” and God bless!
