Proverbs 1:2 To know wisdom and instruction; to perceive the words of understanding; 3 To receive the instruction of wisdom, justice, and judgment, and equity; 4 To give subtilty to the simple, to the young man knowledge and discretion. 5 A wise man will hear, and will increase learning; and a man of understanding shall attain unto wise counsels.
There are some difficult lessons many of us would have to learn for some have not yet been reconciled to the fact that God is practical, and down to earth in the instructions He gives us. All those, who with a humble heart, follow the word of God, will find out that wisdom, intelligence and foreknowledge are all wrapped up in what He commands us to do.
But those who despise His word, to follow on in the footsteps of worldly-wise men, will find out sooner or later that the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. When the Bible is held in a subordinate position to what economists and soothsayers may predict and advise, then, when the carpet is pulled out from under our feet, many persons will be left holding an empty bag, much to their chagrin.
[Testimonies Vol. 6 pp 297] There must be an awakening among the people of God. The entire church is to be tested. The worldly-wise man, who meditates and plans, and whose business is ever in his mind, should seek to become wise in matters of eternal interest. If he would put forth as much energy to secure the heavenly treasure and the life which measures with the life of God as he does to secure worldly gain, what could he not accomplish?
Proverbs 1:7 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.
May God add His blessing to the study of His word. “Good night” and God bless!
